New Music Album to Help Your Dog Relax

Yes, you read this right. Paws. Play. Relax. is an innovative CD featuring relaxing music for your family dog to help them settle an relax. Produced by the Scottish SPCA, in line with the University of Glasgow academic research, the selected music tracks are supposed to help your dog when she feels stresses and should lead to more chilled behaviour.

The Scottish SPCA has worked with John McLaughlin – who has written hits for Rod Stewart, Westlife, Busted, Cliff Richard, and Sandi Thom. It features 10 tracks with local animal-loving artists, including Scottish former X Factor hopeful Gamu Nhengu and up-and-coming Glasgow R&B singer Emiah.

The charity says that they decided to record the album after spending months of research with the University of Glasgow. The research concludes that music can help dogs relax when they are stressed and anxious, improving cardiovascular control and leading to more chilled behaviour.

The study also revealed that, like humans, dogs become easily bored if they listen to the same music continually and like variety within their playlist.

You can buy the album Paws. Play. Relax. from the Scottish SPCA for £10.99.
