IKEA has just launched its brand new furniture collection for pets. You can now buy a smart piece for your dog from their 62-pieces collection by designer Inma Bermudéz, who felt there was a gap in the market for reasonably priced but nice-looking pet products. The collection is called The Lurvig and covers all basic needs – eat, sleep, walk, play. Lurvig means “hairy” in Swedish.
For sleeping, she designed the mini Klippan sofa, a treehouse-like hideaway, and cocooning inserts for Kallax shelving units.
A “friendly-smelling bed” is designed to be filled with owner’s old clothes and blankets, while a bed frame can be used as a cosy nook or turned upside down as a kennel.
Another interesting item is a shallow bowl that encourages dogs to eat slowly.
All pieces are sleek, stylish and minimalistic, so they should fit any interior.
The range is currently only being rolled out in the US, Canada, France, and Japan. The collection is expected to hit the UK in March 2018 at the earliest. We can’t wait!
